To all you Father’s...
Wouldn’t it be lovely... to come home and sit on that sofa with a beer and put the telly on to relax from a hard day's work? Sounding a little stereotyped? But let’s not pretend this is typical for a man to do in order to enjoy his time.
It would be more enjoyable if he could actually sit on the sofa and see the telly. To not have to climb over shoes and piles of laundry or trip over those toys. To be able to find his razor for a calm shave and have a bath once in a while without it being a storage dump. The joy of having a bit of a man cave for alone time or the garage cleared to pursue his favourite hobby. So, why not try organising or decluttering?
Fathers / Men – you may think you don’t need organising and that it is a woman's hobby but let me introduce you to the benefits of it all and how you can get involved too, or maybe even for you to ask for a Father’s Day gift of having it done for you.
Well then, what are the benefits, you ask? Let me get straight to it...
Mental – One says gardening is good for the soul and depression, but have you tried organising and decluttering? You will be surprised! Once you see the outcome of it, you will feel no better than uplifted! Eliminate clutter completely to provide a spacious, clear and calm environment, enabling you to find and retrieve items easily without the frustration or stress. No need to go through bulk mountains of clothes or piles of random bits in order to find your treasures. Giving you a space where you can clear your mind, set-free from overwhelming stuff and be relaxed.
Physical – Why go to the gym when you can tidy your home and burn calories for free?! Moving around and lifting heavy items can be done in the comfort of your home. Why not?! Just don't do your back in!
Environmental - Would you like to be able to not only see your things, but use them? Everything in its place for you to complete your tasks efficiently. A bedroom is for sleeping, as a bookshelf is for books. A light is for seeing, as a picture is for viewing. Your sofa should be just ready for you to sit back and relax surrounded by what you need at the given moment to enjoy your time or save it. Use items to their full potential and have a room with a layout that makes sense. Making adjustments to improve on maximising the space, creating zones to have the ability to work, relax or play.
Tidying up clutter but also thoughtfully using interior skills by enhancing visually attractive layouts of furniture or objects placed for purpose. A traffic flow, free of obstacles, being able to travel through your rooms and onto pathways which are carefully zoned for the suitable needs.
Fun – This may seem silly or unrealistic, but you may discover you actually like having a neat home. You like moving things around to make it look how you like it to be, building shelves or custom-made furniture to store items. Creating competition in your family – who can clean up the fastest! Not your idea of fun? Ok, so maybe you just prefer to watch the transformation with popcorn. Ask your partner if they are into it, otherwise call up a Professional Organiser and go have your fun while they enjoy theirs. Get kiddos to play games of colour co-ordinating items creatively. Cut out labels and make it a family routine. Time with the kids hey?
Social - Having people around finally and showing it off or just sit back and... relax......ah..... Dinner parties or barbecues. Now that sounds like an idea! Motivation!
Economical – Simply said – if you organise items, compact them and place them – you can find them and fill them if necessary. No more buying items due to being lost. No more buying storage because you planned it well. No more bulk items gathering dust because you have all you need visibly placed.
Now what do you think after that? Any benefits? I hope you think so...
