Wardrobe Worry
It started with chaos and finished with calm.
I was asked to transform a wardrobe which was spilling with clothes and filled with irrelavant pieces that belonged in other rooms. A wardrobe that had no function or attraction. I really enjoyed turning it into a wardrobe of dreams. From decluttering items to reducing and creating space, to organising systems that worked better and completing it with styling, making it pleasing to the eye. The wardrobe now made sense. Items were easy to find and in their right place. Wardrobe worries over.
Moving Mayhem
My client was completely overwhelmed! I supported my client by taking some of the burden off of her and helping her through the whole process from beginning to the end. Because I have moved over ten times in my life and have bought a property of my own which I have downsized into along with all of the rentals that have forced me to live inside of a box-room plus moving from South Africa to the UK, I could say that I have the experience of a professional mover. Dealing with all the aspects of moving I could offer guidance including a schedule and give much advice on every dicision. To physically packing in an organised manner so that the whole process could run smoothly and providing resources from movers to storage companies, charity collections etc. My client had a professional on board to support her every step of the way and I was able to see her through the full journey. I am glad she had help and was able to share the life changing experience with me.
Downsizing Dilemma
If you are retiring or have gone through another life-change that forced you to move into a more snug-suitable size, you will understand this one. My client had no choice but to move into a 2-bed from a 4-bed! That means more stuff and less space for it. Unfortunatley it was physically impossible to fit all into the space, so that is where I came in. A helping hand to make the hard dicisions for her when it came to decluttering. I could gently advise on how to best let go of items for chairty or selling. We could both go through what pieces mattered and what items may be meaningful to someone else. I could explain efficient storage methods and organising systems, and furniture re-placement so that her home could be utilized, making her space functional and have room for her favourites.
Staging for Sale
A client needed to put her home on sale. I was more than happy to help! It included one of my favourite areas of service - staging (using interior styling). Because I have qualifications and experience Intertior Design, I was able to transform her space. Not only tidying the mess, decluttering the clutter, organising the space, but also styling the interiors to make it aesthetically pleasing for professional photographs and potential buyers. I was credited for my work and the estate agent even commented that it may have contributed to the quick offers. I felt chuffed and so did my client.
Kitchen Clutter
One of the busiest areas of the house. Kitchens are underated on how important they are to keep organised. A client mentioned that they wanted to improve their kitchen and kitchens are to me one of the most challenging but rewarding rooms to work on. I knew exactly where to start... and that was by pulling it all apart! It was the only way, one thing people do is buy storage solutions which fill up a space even more but the issue is sometimes that items are wrongly located. So, I re-located the items to where I felt they were best suited. This allowed the areas to be fully utilised to their fullest potential. Tall items in tall shelves, pull-outs inside deep cupboards and cooking equipment near the cooking facilities. I have worked as a kitchen designer and so I could use my knowledge of functional layout design to applying that to creating a kitchen that made sense.
